There are times in your life when you get connected with perfection and the privilege of drinking this wine is that you have been blessed with one of those moments. The multiple layers of fruit between raspberry and purple plums, the tobacco, graphite and earth, slight elements of vanilla and wood. Wow. Possibly the best wine I have ever had and certainly within my top 5. If I could find much more of this wine even at the lofty price, I would put some away. It is the fantastic......2 minute finish

At its perfect drinking age right now, this is super concentrated and so full of fruit it's actually mind blowing to wonder how they got all the fruit in there! It's like an entire vineyard was crammed in. Incredible purity, smoothness and clean rich tannins. Mouthful after mouthful this incredible wine just offers up more and more. This was in my cellar for nearly 10 years and was still perfect, a bullet proof wine, given it has been transported in my luggage from London! If you get a chance, do it!

Drunk straight after a Petrus 1969, I provided the 69 and my friend the 70. His was the clear winner! Still in its prime, incredibly complex wine, finish goes on and on and on. Lots of blackcurrant and fruit. Best wine I have ever drunk!

Forest floor, earth, mushrooms, and faded currant and cassis with a bit of date or raisin. Honestly, tannins are still present. Inspiring wine.

The leafy, herbaceous nose of cabernet franc jumped right out of my glass. Pencil shavings and tobacco leaves came to mind. The palate evolved over the course of the afternoon to show layers of black fruits, spices and vegetal tastes.

It has an intense ripe cherry color, with the lively edge of a wine that is always at its best. The aroma prevails with hints of roast from the wood, and touches of hazelnut from its oxidative evolution from its years in the cask. It has generous tastes of old but clean wood, with dry tannins that are pleasantly embittered by the oak, together with the sensation of its light sweetness of its alcohol. It is a pedigree wine with a long, lasting taste.

Dark ruby color with lightening at the edge. Intense, persistent aromas of saddle leather, roasted herbs, scorched earth, and sweet black currant fruit were followed by complex flavors of minerals, spice box, and cedar.

The nose is very black fruited with lots of cassis. The palate starts with a rich mix of fruit, the sweetness balanced by freshness. Layers of flavour give complexity, incredible aromas of currants, blackberries and light spices. Tiny hints of hazelnut. Wet earth. Full body, with super velvety tannins. The underlying freshness gives an elegant feel to the finish.

A rich, dense ruby color, hints at the dark fruit nose of blackberry and currant that carries through to the palate, interwoven with complex aromas of black licorice, anise and crème de cassis. On the palate, the wine opens up to reveal an earthiness, with brown spice, cigar box and ripe dark fruits that linger throughout the extracted and long finish. The texture is opulent and rich, yet has a velvety quality with supple density. Rich, fine‐grained tannins are balanced with ripe fruit, acidity and oak.

Very nice aged California Cab. Fruit still very forward but tannins have integrated. Oak is definitely there with some sweet vanilla on the palate. Shows how nicely insignia can age.

Nose of fresh earth, ceder, caramel, prunes, raspberries and roses. In the mouth has very delicate silky tannins. Very elegant, has a good balance, has managed to preserve its youthful freshness over the years. Delicious long finish.

Spicy nose of licorice, Asian spice, and stewed plums. Palate continues with black fruit, spice, rum soaked raisins,chewy tannins. Long finish! Would like to see where it is in about 20 years! Love it!

Powerful, full bodied, rich, intense aromatically and on the palate, the wine is pure, polished silk in texture. Still young, I'd wait at least 5 years to open this beautiful, sexy, opulent, wine. Time is going to make this much more decadent.

Dark Ruby with aromas of black/blue fruits. This Cabernet/Monastrell blends displays blackberries and plums, complex spice with an earthy feel. The finish shows some leather and cacao. The wine is well structured with smooth tannins and should improve over next few years as it appears too young to fully enjoy now.

I like my Massetos to have at least 10 years of age. Surprisingly, this 09 was already approachable. Supposed to be a scorching hot vintage but I didn't sense that from this wine. This is a medium-bodied red that displayed a lot elegance...certainly lighter in style to the Redigaffi. Nose shows espresso, licorice, cherry liqueur. Excellent fruit intensity in the mouth coated with super fine tannins. Lots of minerality embedded in all that fruit which left my palate tasting fresh. A beautiful Masseto.

Classic, hallmark notes of a mature Pauillac but one that is slightly more feminine because of its lower CS content. Tobacco, sweet cassis, plums, spices and dried herbs find their way to the nose and in the palate. There's a streak of herbaceousness that is more evident in this bottle than others I've had. Beautiful, elegant mouthfeel with plush, velvety yet firm tannins. There's ample fruit and tannins to keep this wine at its apogee for easily another 7-10 years. A great wine. 100pts Parker.

This wine has it all in spades. Wonderfully intense and perfumed. Seductive nose full of red cherries, red currants, toasted rosemary, cedar, English breakfast tea, dried orange peel, and a wonderfully floral caress. Deeply, complex bouquet that is the definition of elegance. On the palate the wine is perfectly chiseled with great tension, texture and length. Nothing delicate about the mouthfeel. The wine demands your attention at every moment.

Great intense nose of black fruits, cassis, olive. Med+ silky mouthfeel an super soft tannins. Sweet black fruits and huge length. Beautifully integrated and complex flavours. Could have been decanted for better openness. Drinking nicely now with purity of fruit. Has a long life ahead of it.

Just opening up, easily has 20 years or more but the tannins already getting soft and silky. Currant, black and red fruit, light smoke on the nose. Palette just blossoming with very long finish. Slight hint of alcohol, but fading by the minute. Outstanding, and a special occasion at a special place makes it all the better.

Sensational nose full of complex spices, plums, graphite, roses. Still plenty of acidity, finish of 30-40 secs. Lovely stuff.
